Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Chatham-Kent Hospice, Joan Emily Parker passed away at the age of 71. Beloved wife of Gary Parker. Loving mother of Lt. (N) Rev. Robert (Rev. Rachel) Parker and Lori Bassett (Chris Moore). Cherished grandmother of Kali (Hunter Kobus), Christa and Michael Bassett; Robby and Danny Parker and Shannon Moore. Predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Emily Brunton, sister Patricia Hamilton and brother Harold “Butch” Brunton.
Joan and Gary were married for 51 years and, even though Joan had several different jobs in her life, the job she loved most was raising and caring for her family. Her kids and grandkids were the center of her life. Joan loved to cook for family and the multitude of church groups she belonged to. Joan will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
