![]() The Florence Stitchers get together on Thursday afternoons to sew quilts for the homeless in Ontario, hats and mittens for Chatham-Kent shelters, clothing for Caribbean children, and these colourful pneumonia vests for African hospital patients. There is a job for every level of craftiness. ![]() There were pancake suppers in the parish in Dresden, Florence and Highgate, and all report great attendance figures, real maple syrup, and fluffy pancakes! Do you know who are the unsung heroes, though, of every sticky Shrove Tuesday feast? The dishwashers. What troupers. This after-event stack of laundered dishtowels tells the story. St Matthew's Winter Blahs luncheons in Florence attract a crowd once a month in the Blah months to enjoy a hot meal and some card or board games. It is like a Toronto Board Game Café, only cooler...
