Organists Shirley Sewell and Heather Morwood, with some help from the rest of their quartet (Jennifer Lee on flute and this alto-for-the-day), put on a fun church music workshop for the parish at St Matthew's hall in Florence. The St Matthew's chefs served lunch. Feedback for the day was heartening. What a lovely bunch of singers!
![]() On June 26, 1994, the Florence United Church congregation disbanded. Its piano went to St Matthew's Anglican, Florence, that summer. It has been played haltingly by tiny beginners and beautifully by talented professionals. It has accompanied Sunday School classes, wedding and funeral singers, congregations and choirs. When it became time to let it go, it was handled gently by these nice movers. It sits here in its penultimate resting place. Pictures to come of the gorgeous baby grand given us by Christ Church, Chatham, for which we are truly grateful, but for now we will remember this pretty little workhorse that has been part of so many momentous events in our village. |
